Senior Project Reflection

(1) Positive Statement

What are you most proud of in your 2-Hour Presentation and/or your senior project? Why?

What I am most proud of in was my 2-Hour Presentation and how I presented my answers and the information I learned. I feel I presented everything that I have learned throughout the year in a clear way that not only logically made sense; but also flowed well. In my presentation I spoke clearly, which I had problems with throughout the year when presenting. I was comfortable with speaking and educating the students because I was able to show off the knowledge I have gained through my service learning, research, and components.

(2) Questions to Consider

a.     What assessment would you give yourself on your 2-Hour Presentation (self-assessment)? Why?

I believe that I deserve a AE on my 2 Hour Presentation. I presented my information and content with a well placed flow so that everything I said logically connected to my EQ and my answers. I went into great detail of nursing and what is important for a RN to have through my activities and the content I was conveying. I made sure to project my voice with full clarity and emphasis so all students were able here the information I was presenting and still be engaged. With the activities, I made sure to recap with them my answer and how it related to my answers and EQ. Through the information I presented, I always cited everything I said with sources that I felt helped me the most. With my sources I explained to them the importance, how and why it helped me when answering my EQ, to what is most important for being a RN. I also did make the time and was not just throwing out facts to compensate and add on for the time. Everything I said had meaning to it and sources to back them up.

b.     What assessment would you give yourself on your overall senior project (self-assessment)? Why?

I personally believe that I deserve a P/AE- on my overall senior project. I turned everything from Blogs to the Components on time, nothing late. I met the requirements for the P and tried to go above and beyond on some components only to come short to get a P. But overall at least a P.

(3) What worked for you in your senior project?
I felt that the 20 min and presenting out our answers worked for me as I was able to progressively improve upon my presenting skills and confidence with my knowledge. It helped me become more comfortable when presenting to people.

(4) What didn’t work for you in your senior project?
The three column didn’t work for me. Having to logically record how I came to my answers was a waste of time for me, especially since I had my I-search and towers to refer back to.

(5) Finding Value

How has the senior project been helpful to you in your future endeavors?   Be specific and use examples.

Senior Project has helped me better myself as a person. Through interacting with nurse and patients at my service learning, I have gained the people skills needed to communicate properly with those given the circumstance. Before I was shy and didn’t interact with people as much do to the fact I didn’t want to share my opinion and thoughts because I was scared of what they may think. Now I know how to go about and hold my own to create better communication with people and understand the situation I may be with when conversing with them. Also through senior year and senior project I have learned not to procrastinate. Always prioritize my tasks and finish them beforehand; never put it on hold.It helped me become more organized with both my school work and life.
